The making of - Stations of Hope

2008 – 2013

In 2008, I started sewing small linen squares with words embroidered on them. Linen, a fabric from my native Belfast, where many of my aunts worked in the linen factories was a natural choice. Sewing these small linen pieces had a therapeutic effect as I prepared myself to take on the dark subject of sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Church. These linen pieces became the 14 piece installation called “Stations of Hope”.
